A life without Internet, Cable, cell phones, and pagers
I've been thinking about how different my life was growing up, than it is for my kids. I know I sound like an old folgy. But seriously, we didn't have cable, internet, cell phones, or pagers when we grew up. What did we do? How did we ever survive? We actually played outside with our friends. Wow, what a concept. I see how spoiled my own kids can get on the cartoon channels that are on cable. When my cell phone rings, Caleb runs to get it and bring it to me. I don't ask him to, he just does it. Joshua is always begging to look at the internet to look at pictures of musical instruments from different countries. Then again, Joshua looks at his encyclopedia's and goes to the library for that information a lot more than he looks on the internet. I guess my generation is more spoiled on these high tech things than our children are. They're almost desensitized against it. They've always known it, and seen it. They don't know a time when there wasn't those things. But not us adults. We're mesmorized by them. We can't wait until the next new contraption comes out. Not that we always have the cash to buy it. But it's always nice to window shop. I guess it's ok if it's in moderation. Right?
