Joshua is our little genius. Not to say that Caleb isn't. We had Joshua privately tested through a specialist. She helps home schooling parents find the right curriculum for their children. When it came to the reading and vocabulary part of the test, Joshua was off the charts. Literally, he was reading 8th grade vocabulary words. We weren't all that shocked, just because we hear how he talks to us, and I guess we're used to it. He does like to say the big words, and he doesn't have a problem reading them. He was even putting the correct accent to the words. The specialist looked at us, and said 'I hope you know what a special and talented little boy this is. I mean, what kid do you know this age says the words skinny snout?' We looked at each other and said, 'Well, pretty much just Joshua.' There was another test with pictures, and he was supposed to tell her what he thought it was. It was a black and white picture of a cowboy boot with flames on the side. Joshua said that it was frozen fire, and that auntie Kristin would wear it. Even though he didn't say cowboy boot at first, the specialist loved his answer, because it was so descriptive. She said he should write poetry. She said her husband was born in Sweden in a passing comment, not thinking that Joshua would care or even remember that she said that. Way later in the session, he asked her what instruments they played in Sweden. She just looked at him, then looked at us, and said 'I can't believe you remembered me saying that.' Joshua looked at her and said, 'I love all countries, and instruments. What do they wear in Sweden?' When we were driving home, Joshua said to us, 'I think I deserve mexican food now.' He also said 'That lady reminds me of Grandma Marlene, because she was calling me Sweety, and Cutie Pie, and Superman.' Joshua worked hard and he did deserve Mexican food. I am very proud of him. God has blessed us with two very special and talented boys. I'll write about Caleb next time, I promise.

I just realized something. I haven't talked to Kristin today. We usually talk like 2 or 3 times a day. I hope you're OK zonky. Call me, K?
I put my feet on your lawn chair!
Can I complain about something that really upset me? Why am I asking you? It's my blog. I guess I was just warning you. Ok, before I say this, I am not talking about anyone that is a friend or a family member. Just some nosey little B that happened to be sitting her fat A on one of my lawn chairs outside the day of Bob's party. No, she was not a guest at the party. She just saw a jumpy and a bunch of lawn chairs, and thought Hey, what the H, you know? (I live in an apartment). Oh, and her also uninvited grandson was in the jumpy. So, I go out there to check on the kids in the jumpy. She starts asking me questions about what's the closest public school around here. She already knew the answer to that question, she's a public school teacher in the next city. Then she looks at Josh in the jumpy and says, Is he kind of hyper? First of all, what the H kinda question is that. And second of all, Who the H are you, and why do you care? The boy is in the freakin' Jumpy, what do you think? All of the kids are hyper right now, lady! Then she has the nerve to keep it up with her questions. Unfortunately, I told her that I was homeschooling him, and I plan to do the same for Caleb. That was it for her. And that was it for me. I am not ashamed of how I raise my children. Nor do I feel it neccesary to have to defend the way that I raise them. But somehow, this lady felt it was her duty to tell her opinion on how I raise my children. People like this are just amazing. I mean really don't they have anything better to do? I would never make anyone feel like the way she tried to make me feel. It just really upset and bothered me. I felt like saying, You know what, get your fat A off of my lawn chair, B!
So, I woke up today, and went into the boys room. Josh was watching Clifford the red dog. I asked him where Caleb was. He said he didn't know. I called down the stairs for him. Caleb answered. I asked him what he's doing. He said he was playing X-Box. Wonderful. Then he came up the stairs, naked as a Jay Bird, and holding a can of whipped cream. Great. I really need to get up earlier than these boys. They're crazy.

It was a wonderful weekend for us. Sat. was Bob's 30th birthday party. We had a bouncy house, everyone except for me was in that thing. I think even Grandma Maxine was tempted to go in. That would've been awesome! I bought a cake from the Dutch bakery down the street. I had them put a little boy picture of Bob on it. It was so cute! After everyone left, Bob and my brother Bryan went to go see Batman. Me and Kristin went to Hoff's Hut for dinner, then we talked at my house for a bit. We fell asleep on the couch after that.
Father's Day we went to my dad's, and there was live Mariachi music playing at a neighbor's house. You know what that means. Joshua heard it, and made my mom sit on lawn chairs with him in the alley to hear the music.
After that we went to Bob's dad's house. They had a BBQ, and Ice cream cake. We gave his dad a hammock. I'll have to go over there when they're at work sometime and try it out.
Bob took the day off today. It was a long weekend. Now I want to go to the beach. Bob says he wants to rest. Hmph. It's so pretty today, maybe I'll talk him into it.

Caleb-Mommy, tell daddy when he gets home tonight, that we can put ourselves to bed.
Me- Why, so you can try and watch Star wars?
C- No! We’re big boys now. We can put ourselves to bed. Really, tell daddy that when he gets home tonight!

Ah, the second trimester. There's nothing like it. I feel a little more normal. Except for the fact that I've lost 6 pounds since being pregnant. It's all the walking at Disneyland, and not wanting to eat a whole lot. I eat, just not like I used to. Believe me, it's a good thing. I just got done putting clothes away. Did you hear me people? This is something that I don't normally do, although I should. Bob's going to be sad when this second trimester thing goes away. All the energy I have, and all the house cleaning, and trying to cook. (Trying is the key word here). One thing that I wish pregnancy would do to me is take the urge to shop away. I don't know if that will ever happen.

Quotes from Caleb
Mommy, when we were spending the night at uncle Bryan and aunt Kristin's house, I was being sneaky. You went shopping with Kristin, and I was with Bryan and daddy. I was playing LOTR video game. I was being sneaky. But Bryan let me play that game!

My sister was visiting last week. We had a great time. We went to Disneyland, Glen Ivy Hot Springs/ Day Spa, had a Memorial day BBQ, ate dinner at BJ's, and just had fun hanging out with family. I miss her and Kip. My sister said they'll come back in Dec. when my new baby comes. We don't know what it is yet. If it's a girl, we want to name it Aurora after Bob's Grandma. If it's a boy, we're really not sure what to name it yet. Either way, we're pretty excited. We just want the baby to be healthy, and blessed.
