Joshua doesn't need glasses. He is color blind however, and there's something else that the Dr. didn't want to tell us in front of Josh. So, we're going to come back on Monday without the boys, so he can explain it. I'll let you know what it is when we find out. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the way he see's words on a page. He said sometimes the words move around or he loses his place when he's reading. I would never have known that by hearing him read out loud. He loves reading, and he's excellent at it. The Dr. did say that while he loves it now, later this problem might get to him, and he'll begin to hate reading. Poor Josh, I hope that doesn't happen. We're going to do everything in our power for him to still love to read. I still haven't figured out why he blinks a lot.

Anniversary plannings
We're going to see Ray Ramano at the Orange County Performing Arts Center on Sunday. Then we're going to this really nice restaurant called Villa Nova. It's italian, right on the waterfront in Newport Beach, and very romantic. This will be our 9th anniversary. I'm kind of treating it like it's our 10th though. Next year, I'm going to have a baby attached to me. So, we probably won't be able to stay out all night.
Stop it with the blinking already.
We're going to take Joshua to the eye Dr. tommorow. He keeps on blinking like he has dry eyes or something. This is Joshua's explaination of why he blinks like he does: The reason I do that is because, I don't want to miss the white husky or arctic fox that might run by my door. If I blink slow, or if my eyes stay closed too long, I'll miss my babies, and they'll be lost in the alley.

Theme for babies crib
I asked the boys what kind of blanket to put in the babies crib. Joshua said Sombreros, Caleb said puppies. I like the puppy idea. Especially since all of the themes at Babies R Us are weak. Frogs, jungle, ducks, bears, no thank you. My youngest brother liked puppies when he was a baby. My mom painted puppies on his wooden high chair. It was really cute. I want my mom to make the crib bedding. We can probably find some puppy material. Maybe we should put a sombrero on the puppies? That would be funny.

I should've stayed at the beach.
I went to the beach today with the boys. It was so nice there. As soon as we got home, it was like opening the oven door. Ugh. The boys are just sitting around like slugs. They refuse to take a shower. Maybe I should do what my mom did to me when I was 5. Take them outside and hose them down. Caleb would hate me forever if I did that to him.

It's a Boy!
I'm very happy that we're having another boy. I honestly didn't care either way, as long as he is healthy. And he is! He is always moving and swimming around. Pretty soon, he'll only be able to kick, and get stuck under my ribs. Poor me. I have huge babies if you didn't know that already. Joshua was 9 pounds, 22 and a half inches long, and Caleb was 10 pounds, 22 and a half inches long. So, this one should be what, like 11 pounds, right? I hope not. I hope he'll be like 8 pounds. That sounds nice. I have different insurance this time around. My new Dr. seems to think that she's going to induce me on my due date. Umm, I don't know if that's such a good idea. I kind of wish that I had a mid wife this time around. That way I can scream in the privacy of my own home.

Bob took a half day off of work yesterday. He went with me to the Dr. because we didn't know if we would have an ultrasound or not. We did not. We heard the little fast heart beat though. That was good enough for me. I'm 19 weeks now. Bob keeps asking me when he will be able to feel the baby's kicks from the outside of my tummy. I said, 'Don't worry, you won't need me to tell you to feel it. You'll see it from across the room, and come running. It's usually at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. So, that's probably when he'll feel he/she kicking. I'm going to the ultrasound next Thursday. Hopefully they can find out what the sex of the baby is. I've decided that I want my mom to make the crib bedding for the baby. I saw this really soft fabric at Tall Mouse a couple of months ago. Ahh, I want that for my bed!

Happy 4th of July!
We usually celebrate this day at our house. There's big fireworks across the street from our house at the park. My family and Bob's family are coming over. Sometimes a couple of friends come over. The boys can't wait. They saw fireworks outside their window last night. That made them fall right to sleep. Not!

Aurora
You are Aurora from Sleeping Beauty!

What Disney Princess are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
This is what we might name the baby if it's a girl. Not after the disney princess. After Bob's Grandma.
Obsessions? No. Well...maybe.
My friend Vicky made the mistake of telling Joshua that she was at the park by his Grandma Marlene's house. I take that back that wasn't her mistake. Her mistake was telling him that she saw a party there, that had a live Mariachi band playing. He started grilling her for details. 'Well, how many guys were in the band? What kind of instruments were they playing? Trumpets? Violins? Base? Accordion? Mandolin? What were they wearing? Were they wearing sarapes and straw hats? Or were they wearing white long sleeve shirts, with black pants with the buttons down the side, and sombrero's?
Vicky's daughter Rachel said that Joshua knows everything about everything. She said that Joshua is going to grow up and be a guy that lives in the Arctic with foxes, and white Huskies. He knows everything about that too.
Interesting conversations
So, we went to Lucille's BBQ for dinner tonight. Here's a little taste of what was said there, while eating our dinner:
Me- Is that Elvis I hear on the radio?
Bob- (Ignoring me)
Joshua- (talking in his extremly loud voice) Mommy, Elvis died a really, really long time ago while he was on the toilet. Plop...plop...plop.

Later, on the way home in the car:
Joshua- Why do only girls get to go to baby showers?
Me- Because, it's boring for boys to go to showers.
Caleb- No fair! What about parties just for boys?
Me- Yes, before you get married you can have a party just for boys.
Caleb- Did daddy have one of those?
Me- Yes, and they had lots of fun, eating pizza.
Josh- And drinking beer!
Caleb- No fair! God was watching us when you were getting married and going to parties. What were we doing with God?
Me- God was taking care of you.
Caleb- I know! We were drinking beer!
I think Caleb is going to be into contact sports. He loves to wrestle with Bob and Joshua. He never gives up. I wish I could bottle his energy. It's always Joshua that screams, 'Get off of me, you little Shrimpy!'
I feel the baby moving now. It's very cool. Joshua was in our small kitchen when I was in there the other day. We both turned around at the same time. He said, 'Whoa, your belly is big now!' It was cute. I was glad he noticed that the baby was growing. I keep pointing out to the boys women that have babies in their tummy's. So that they'll know what my tummy will look like. Except I say, 'Mommy's tummy will be much larger than that ladies tummy. I have 10 pounders.' They both looked at each other and started giggling. One day I put a pillow in my shirt, to show them what I would look like. I never did that again. It freaked Joshua out. He thought that it was really my belly. Poor baby. It was too much for him.
