Update on my dad 1-5-2009
My dad got moved to a regular room after being in the ICU for 6 weeks. We're grateful, he is in a room by himself. It's nice and quiet in there. But, I think we got a little spoiled in the ICU though. The nurses were always right there. Now they only come in to take his vitals, move his position, clean him, give him his meds. I don't think the nurses read the patients file to see what actually happened to them to put them here in the first place. They always ask us, "what happened to him?" I think my dad gets sick of hearing my mom explain to the nurses what happened. I know I would. I just pray with him, read the Bible to him and tell him what's been going on with my boys. I try to put his favorite shows on for him so he can hear them. I want to get a CD player in there, and get some books on tape for him. I put up a sign in guest book. That way if one of us isn't there, the other one will know who was there and when. That was my sister Kandy's idea. Thanks Kan!

Josh sits right next to Matthew on the couch. Matthew starts elbowing Josh, because Josh has no sense of personal space. Even my 3 year old knows that.
Here's what Josh says to Matthew:

Convo with Josh this morning

This is what Josh said when he finally woke up this morning at 9:05am:
J.- It will never rain again!
M.- Why, what happened?
J.- For one, I had a dream last night that everyone was making Art Sculptures of me!
2. It was really cold!
3. My pants kept on creeping up on my crotch!

My dad had a stroke last Tuesday. Please keep him in your prayers. He's in the ICU but hopefully he'll be able to go into a regular room soon.

Joshua was "Scream," Caleb was Ironman, and Matthew was Spiderman.

We went to visit some old friends that live down the street from us. We missed living close to them.


Then we went to my parents house for a little bit to visit.

People/Things we'll miss in Lake Elsinore:

-Even though we'll see them still, we're going to miss living so close to Bryan and Kristin, my brother and sis in law.
-Winco! We love that grocery store, such good prices. I'm going to have to stop by after getting my hair done by Kristin.
-Joshua's Folklorico Dance class, the teacher Miss Lorena, all of his friends he's made there, and of course the mom's I've become good friends with.
-De Jong's Dairy Farm. Even though I can't drink milk, man, I will miss that milk.
-The quiet, open wide spaces.
-No helicopters, and hardly ever hear a siren unless there's a fire.

Things I'm looking forward to living in Norwalk:

-Living close to our parents, friends, other siblings, and our church.
-Free Babysitting!
-Caleb will be able to be in sports again! And Josh will still be able to go to a Folklorico class.
-Caleb and Josh are excited to go to school.
-The fact that everything is just around the corner.
-Paying off some debt, and saving some money.

So, we're moving this Sat. back to our hometown where we grew up in. Good old Norwalk. I've missed it, and I'm looking forward to living closer to our parents, siblings, friends, and our church. We will miss living so close to my brother and his wife here in Lake Elsinore though. And we hate to leave this big house that fit us perfect. But I know God has other plans for us right now. He's preparing us for something else.

Happy Fathers Day!


I just wanted to say Happy early Father's Day to my dad. He's always there for me when I need him. He is my hero, my rescuer, and one of the most important man in my life. He helped me get up if I fell. He kissed my boo boo's and made them better. Well, I'm all grown up now, and he's still doing those things for me and my little family. He still saves me when I lock my keys in my car. He still comes to get me if my car breaks down. He still helps me out when I need a little money until payday gets here. He even goes into his garage and climbs up to get all of his old camping gear to let me have it so I can make those same wonderful memories I had as a child for my children. Thank you so much Dad. You'll never know how much I really and truly appreciate and love you. You're the best dad a daughter could ever have. I've always been so proud of you, and who you are as a man, a father, and now a grandfather.

De Jong's Dairy Farm

We went to the dairy farm on the other side of the lake for a preschool tour. The boys loved it. It didn't even stink either! They got to pet the animals, in the petting zoo.
They saw a ground owl, which Josh loved of course.

Caleb couldn't help himself. He loved them like they were his own.


Every day this week, Caleb woke up, and went to check on his babies. If they would fall out of the nest, he would put his baseball gloves on, and pick it up and put it back in the nest. It's the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Now, the babies are learning to fly, and Caleb keeps on putting them back in their nest. I told him they are learning to fly and you have to let them go. I think he's going to miss them.

This picture was taken a couple of years ago. My life was a little more complicated then. But at the same time, a little more simple. I was nursing, homeschooling, and trying to have my own business. Also, I had a little car and I had to squeeze three boys into that. And we lived in a little 2 bedroom apartment. I was content, and very grateful for the blessings that God had given us. I do miss living so close to our families there. But I have grown in many ways living where I do now. I've met a lot of new people, and let go of some other people.

Happy 8th Birthday Caleb!

Caleb had a Spiderman party for his 8th Birthday. I can't believe he's 8! He was born on April 7, 2000. Caleb Bryan was 10 lbs. 2 oz. and 22 1/2 in. long! That boy was in my ribs, and I couldn't wait to have him in my arms. He was a millennium baby. I remember my sister saying when we were in High school that she wanted to have a baby in the year 2000. Back then (in the 90's) it seemed so far away, the 2000's. But little did we know that I would be the one having my 2nd boy that year. Wow!

This is the product of my friend Jennifer and me. Zach and Katie like each other. They have Sunday dates! Isn't that adorable?! They are so stinking cute, I can't even believe it. I told Jennifer that I just want to kiss their cheeks, and yell out "Hurray!"

Matthew loves his cousin Seth. He was kissing him and being really gentle with him. It was so sweet!

I went to a homeschool mom's retreat last weekend. It was fun. I had my own bed, (thank the Lord). I missed my sons fiesta though. His folklorico class had a party for the kids. My mom worked tirelessly on J's Eagle headdress for his Aztec costume. Then when it came time to wear it at the fiesta, no one else had one, and no one else was going to do the Aztec dancing. Just folklorico dancing. Caleb actually came out in his underwear and trying to put on his costume. Poor little guys, they love that Aztec dancing.

I found this quote from another blog mom with all boys. I never thought of it like that. Someone from my church with all sons grown up now said that I will be the queen of my household. It's true. I feel very blessed to have my boys. They are so sweet, when I was reading this other blog, they came up and gave me a big hug!
