I've been weighing over, for a very long time, whether or not I should talk about this. So, here it goes. My first son, Joshua, has something called 'Asperger's Syndrome.' It's a very mild form of 'Autism.' I'll break it down for you, so it's easier to understand. These are just some of the things that Joshua has to deal with on a daily basis:
-has trouble keeping eye contact.
-He has to ask everyone if they like Batman, LOTR, Whales, Shrimp, or any kind of seafood to eat.
-He can't tolerate jeans, or long sleeves. He insists on wearing sweat pants, and T-shirts.
-Lately, he's been wanting to wear a suit, tie, vest, and jacket. (Just like Bruce Wayne).
-Doesn't remember things that happen a few minutes to an hour ago, but remembers things from the time he was two years old.
-Has frequent meltdowns, (screaming, crying, hitting, etc.)
-Interrupts and gets very angry if you're not listening to him.

He can also be very kind and sweet a lot of the times:
-loves me to pay attention to his 'Stories' that he makes up himself.
-Fantastic reader, writer, composer.
-loves music, especially classical, mariachi, and 'Daddy's music.' (rolling stones, beatles, Elvis, wilco, radiohead)
-loves for me to pretend to be whales with him.
-Hugs and kisses me for no reason, and says that I'm a cute mommy whale.
-calls me a cute sleepy cat, when I sleep in on the weekends.
-Helps me all the time at the daycare. He's mommy's big helper! He only helps when I don't ask him to help. Otherwise, he says 'No more favors today, favor girl. Sorry, I'm just too tired.'
-Loves to learn about the Bible.
-Loves to sing songs in Latin.
-Excellent in Math, if he's in the right mood.
-Wonderful in arts and crafts. He's extremely creative, and expressive.
-Teaching himself to play the piano by ear, like his mommy. Every Sunday after church, he goes straight to the piano.

I just wanted to get these things out in the open. Not to offend anyone. I definitely do not want anyone to feel sorry for us. God is in charge of our lives. He knows what He's doing. I don't worry. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was complaining.
I was just stating some facts about our everyday lives. We have good days, and we have bad days. Just like everyone else. Thanks for listening.
